Rotary Club of La Jolla
2011 - 2012
President's Letter

                                          We’re Doing Good”

Dear Rotarians and Friends,

It’s an honor to be chosen to serve you and this beautiful seaside village as President of the Rotary Club of La Jolla 2011- 2012. This year we celebrate 100 years of Rotary International public service in over 200 countries around the world. We’re known for doing good in global and local communities – and we will continue to do so, as we have for the past 65 years of our chartered existence. I am excited by the possibilities and opportunities for service and ask you to join me in our non-stop efforts to make positive and lasting differences in the lives we are blessed to touch.

We are a club dedicated to serving in a variety of ways: fundraising for scholarships for students of merit and need is foremost; we are engaged in national service through our support for the USO; our cross border projects include hands-on home construction in Tijuana utilizing the energy of our La Jolla High School Interact Club youth, while providing life changing classroom curriculum for at risk kids in Baja. For nearly a decade we have personally served our neighborhood senior citizens; our international involvements range from MicroCredit banking along with sanitation and water supply development in the poorest of foreign lands, along with many other programs already active, with more yet to be imagined. I’m fortunate to be able to work with a board of directors comprised of thoughtful, motivated and focused business leaders familiar with success, but certainly we could not serve effectively without you, our dedicated membership. With your support, we will continue to both improve and expand the avenues of service to this special place we call home, and beyond.

Thank you for all that you do, and thanks so much for the opportunity to serve you as president. I look forward to a fulfilling year!

Yours in Service,

Ron Jones
President, Rotary Club of La Jolla
