Professor Molly McClain

Molly McClain (PhD Yale) is a professor of history at the University of San Diego where she has taught since 1995. She is the author of two books and numerous historical articles, many of which focus on the history of early twentieth-century San Diego. Her biography of philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps will be published by the University of Nebraska Press in early 2017. A ninth-generation San Diegan, she has co-edited The Journal of San Diego History for the last 10 years. She also serves on the board of the La Jolla Historical Society where she has co-curated “From Jazz Age to Our Age: Landmark Homes of La Jolla.”
