Mark Aldrich is a local aviation historian, archivist and researcher who has specialized in U.S. Naval subjects for over forty years. An author of books on Naval Air Station North Island and the Consolidated Corporation, Mark has a degree in history from California State University Fullerton. He served as the curator for several exhibits at the Coronado Historical Association Museum and helped to establish a working archive of historic material at NAS North Island in 2011. His interest in naval aviation stem from his father’s service as an aviator in the US Coast Guard in the 1950’s and have blossomed into a true obsession. Mark‘s forty-five year work career was spent at the helm of various Trader Joe’s Markets in Southern California. Upon retirement, he accepted a position as the Tailhook Association Historian and Archivist but still devotes one day a week to volunteer duties as an assistant research historian and archivist at the San Diego Air and Space Museum.
